Apeksha Dandekar Makes her TV Debut in Coke Studio this Season

Singer-songwriter, Apeksha Dandekar is making her television debut with Coke Studio @ MTV Season 2. Apeksha, previously part of a pop girl trio D-Major, is now concentrating on her solo career as a live artist and a playback singer.

Apeksha will feature in producer Karsh Kale’s episode which will air on August 11th, 2012 on MTV starting 7pm.  On asking Karsh why he chose to work with Apeksha Dandekar, he says,

“Apeksha is supremely talented and a versatile singer. She not only sings in Hindi, Punjabi, Marathi and English, she also sings in many different styles including Hindustani Classical, rhythm & blues, and hip-hop, she does it all with utter sincerity and authenticity. Apeksha represents the next generation of forward thinking artists.”

Apeksha will be singing ‘Peekaboo’, where she has collaborated with singer Benny Dayal and rapper Mandeep Sethi, and ‘Shedding Skin’ which has her singing with Karsh Kale and female ensemble, Shruti Pathak, Monali Thakur and Shilpa Rao for the 6th episode of Coke Studio @ MTV, Season 2.

According to Apeksha,

“Coke Studio @ MTV was a musical journey and a meeting of musical minds. Karsh was very open and approachable as a musician and as a person. It was awesome sharing ideas with everyone and experiencing each learning curve in an attempt to create something new”

Apeksha has previously also collaborated with IshQ Bector on his album, worked with music directors Sachin-Jigar and Avadhoot Gupte and lent her voice to films such as F.A.L.T.U, Bheja Fry 2, and Always Kabhi Kabhi.
