1.October 2007.The year MGF was formed. How has the ride been?
Midnight Garden Factor: Well honestly it has been one hell of a learning experience for all of us. We as a band and as well as individuals have learned
and gained valuable lessons. But hopefully we’ll overcome all our obstacles and rise above it and shine.. :).Bari says “There has and will always be a hitch in any band so did we, but we are these bumpy ride has brought us many success.”
2. Influences helps a band in some way or the other. Who has been the band’s major influences?
MGF: Well that’s very true we all have been influenced or we rather much say INSPIRED by some great Individuals and awesome bands.
Individually in this band we all come from different musical backgrounds and we all are inspired by different genres of music and individuals..
(if we start mentioning it’ll be one super long list…hahahahahaa). The band however got together for the sheer love for progressive music.
3.Your debut was at the Hornbill Music National Rock contest 2007 and the band were adjudged 2nd Runner’s up.How was the experience since it was the band’s first gig?
MGF: The band was formed in October 2007 and we started working with our originals and we were experimenting a lot, November came and the Hornbill rock contest news was thick in the air, like many other bands we thought of giving it a try and we applied for it… and well the rest is history.. lol
It was great, nervous and wonderful as such the feeling that we felt at that moment cannot be described in words but can only be felt since these are abstract pangs.
4.MGF also open for Mr Big.That is quite an achievemnt in itself. How was it like opening for them?
MGF: We all grew up listening to them, trying to play their songs and sing along .We were lucky enough to witness gods at work but to share the stage with them man I tell it was awesome, out of this world….
5. The band was also the first to be crowned Meghalaya Icon in March 2010.How does it feel like to be brand ambassadors?
MGF: Bari says “To be one is always great but to become one its only through the bands hardwork and dedication so we felt really privilege to be able to educate and spread awareness about the cause of HIV/AIDS through MACS initiative.”
6.You guys are working on your first EP,when do we the fans get to lay our hands on it?
MGF: Well we had already started working on it but due to some technical difficulties we were not albe to finish it.. but the band is planning to hit the studio very soon.. will surely update you on the same.
7.What about an album? Is that on the pipeline too?
MGF: Well which band does not dream of releasing an album of their own, but as we all know it is not as easy as it appears to be, we are still looking for the right avenues and people to work with. We’ll get there eventually.. 🙂
8. What does MGF as a band think of the music scenario in the Northeast today?
MGF:Northeast as we all know is the gold mine for talent. Well the scenario of N.E as a whole not very sure bout it but definitely few parts of N.E is doing well. The scene no doubt is getting better then before but we’ve a long way to go, its still not out there yet.
9.Famous last words…
MGF: Keep it Real, Never give up…
