SAARANG:
Saarang is the annual cultural festival of IIT Madras, one of the biggest festivals in India witnessing a footfall of over 50,000.
Saarang has been the stage for popular performers like Sunidhi Chauhan, Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, Vishal-Shekhar, Sonu Nigam, Kay Kay, Shaan and Zakir Hussain and also for internationally recognized bands like Karnivool,Opeth and Hammerfall.
MILAN:
Milan is the outreach program of Saarang where it reaches out to a huge spectrum of audience beyond Chennai. In Milan, Band Hunts are organised which witness colossal participation from crowds all over the country.
The winners of Milan from each city get a wild card entry to Decibels.
DECIBELS and the perks:
Decibels is one of the biggest semi-professional band competitions in India, a western music event at Saarang.
Over 100 bands from all over the country register for the event and experiences a foot fall of more than 6000 to view the event.
Decibels offers a huge prize money worth INR 160,000/- and have been backed by record label Krimson Avenue offering a record deal for the winner and NH7 offering gigs for the winners of this event.
