Jim Ankan  Director of Eastern Fare Music Foundation a music school and production house in Bangalore and singer and composer Ritwika Bhattacharya released ‘Ganga’ a tribute to Bhupen Hazarika and Paul Robeson.

Ganga by Jim Ankan Deka and Ritwika Bhattacharya, merges the essence of Paul Robeson’s “Ol’ Man River” and Bhupen Hazarika’s “Ganga Behti Ho Kyun”.

“Ol’ Man River” sung by Paul Robeson, a popular song written for the 1927 musical “Show Boat”, that contrasts African American hardship and struggles of the time with the endless, uncaring flow of the Mississippi River, from the view of a dock worker on a showboat.

‘Ganga Behti Ho Kyun’ the most inspiring song by ‘Bharatratna’ Dr. Bhupen Hazarika. The superb lyrics in pure Hindi are another gem from the pen of Kaviraj Pandit Narendra Sharma Ji.
