Acclaimed folk rock band come together with electronic artist to launch a remix of Naane Daari, a song that celebrates the power of youth
The Naane Daari Tour will see the two acts take their high energy collaborative show to cities across the country
Swarathma and Dualist Inquiry are embarking on a nation-wide tour to launch the new single “Naane Daari (Remix)”. Featuring the unlikely combination of colourful folk rock and edgy electronica, the song is a high energy dubstep reinterpretation of the track originally featured on Topiwalleh the second studio album released by Swarathma in May 2012.
Sahej Bakshi, the mind behind Dualist Inquiry says, “I was blown away by the energy Swarathma when I attended their Topiwalleh launch concert in New Delhi and after a few conversations started thinking of a remix of one of their songs. Naane Daari had an infectiously catchy guitar riff that had me hooked. It didn’t matter that I didn’t understand the Kannada lyrics, I worked on re-creating some of the magic on the track with a synthesizer, and it turned out so great!” What’s more, the band has been previewing the release live at several shows in the recent past to wonderful responses from audiences.
Jishnu Dasgupta, the bassist of Swarathma, who conceptualized the project says, “I first saw Sahej at the Invasion Festival, and frankly thought he was way better than the headlining act. Though we didn’t start out as electronica fans, I really enjoyed the vibe of the music of Dualist Inquiry. With Naane Daari (remix) we’re attempting something totally unexpected and fresh! As artists it’s important to keep trying new things.”
The first show of the tour will be held at Arc Asia, ABC Farms, Koregaon Park, Pune where both acts have a strong following. The song will be released at the show. It will be up for free download on the Dualism record label’s page at http://dualismrecords.bandcamp.com

About Dualist Inquiry
Dualist Inquiry is the brainchild and solo project of Sahej Bakshi, a music producer, guitarist and cerebral agent who graduated from the Thornton Music School at USC in Los Angeles, CA, in 2009. Since returning to India in 2010, Sahej has grown to be considered one of the leading producers and live performers of electronic music in India, releasing original music and touring extensively. Dualist Inquiry has most recently released Doppelganger, his widely-anticipated, first full-length album.
He has been the preferred supporting act for an impressive list of international producers and DJs touring India, including David Guetta, Fatboy Slim, Basement Jaxx, KOAN Sound and Hexstatic. In addition, he has performed internationally at the Berlin Music Week (2010), and the Great Escape Festival (2011) where he opened for Beardyman and the legendary DJ Shadow. He was also chosen to represent India at Red Bull Music Academy (RBMA) in New York in 2013.
