This October the heavy metal fans will witness the return of the legendary Phynyx after 13 years from its state of ashes on the 21st of Oct., 2012at YAC Range Ground, Imphal. Organized and managed by River Boat Events and supported by various rock communities it is expected to be one historic event in the decades old rock music history in Manipur. With the state of art production equipments and overwhelming responses from the fans the event is going to be one of the biggest gig of the season. Needless to say that the legends are coming back to recreate the golden glories of the past and head for the modern barricades of new genre.
Beside Phynyx the fans will see Soulmate, the biggest fan following blues band of the country doing the opening act. Keith Viegas, a sensational guitarist from Mumbai and also a friend to Phynyx will make a special appearance in the event. Phynyx is Len Gangte on vocal, Vivek Sharmaon guitar, Ringo Golmei on bass, Bobby Nameirakpam on drums, Gouhou on guitar and Khupon keyboards.
Bulo Konsam, the head of River Boat Events is of the opinion that music is the best medium to reach out to the youths. He stated that the event will create awareness about HIV-AIDS among the youths of the region. Further he mentioned that he and his team have always had the idea to organize for Phynyx ever since gossips of the band’s re-union surfaced. Growing up watching Phynyx and now to be a part of the band’s event is a great honor of respect, added Mr. Konsam.
Expecting an audience of around 2,500 to 3,000 rock music fans the management have already started to feel the pressure of a hectic ground work. Apart from high pitching vocals, amazing guitar works and all time popular covers the fans will witness some good new changes too.
In the interest of the fans there will be a lucky draw on the venue and the winners will be awarded with a Yamaha FZS and a TVS Apache each. Entry to the green room is restricted for the audiences but fans can join the band in their jamming session at Bedrock Jam Room in Palace Ground, Imphal.
Keith Viegas has already arrived in Imphal a few days back and is teaming up with Phynyx. Soul-mate is ready to reincarnate the bird from the ashes and is landing in Imphal on the 20th.
Here are few exclusive information for the readers: Keith Viegas will be joining Phynyx on few songs along with guitar solos. Songs with him includes Still Got The
Blues (Gary Moore), Can I Play With Madness (Iron Maiden) and Burn (Deep Purple).
Phynyx will be playing covers and originals both. Cover includes the amazing Trooper (Iron Maiden), Another Dream (Dream Theater), Always (Bon Jovi) etc. The evergreen Women and Pay Day were on the list of their originals for the gig. Fans will also witness
Saxophone solos from the maestros.
