Slither- Shadow Conscience | EP Review

Slither is a Bangalore Based 5 Piece Melodic/Metal Core Band and formed in November of 2011.

Slither’s music features concentrated drumming and melodic guitar riffs to give a strengthening indication of their genre.
Their song lyrics have been motivated by environmental awareness, social relations and experiences.

Slither is influenced bybands such as Final Surrender, Texas In July, As I Lay Dying, August Burns Red, Parkway Drive, Killswitch Engage,The Devil Wears Prada etc….

Slither has marked its identity in their home city with an increasing fan base. In November 2012, the band released their first EP Teaser of “Shadow Conscience” and recorded 3 Singles: Breathe, Curse of the Anomie, The Warrior.

Their music is powerful and captivating. Heavy melodic riffs and simple yet concrete drumming adds a unique identity to the band. However I would like to say that the ideal of the lyrics is very interesting and meaningful unlike the other core bands. Each one of the single is structured in different combinations of musical influences. As an amateur band, the band has done a pretty good job in coming up with captivating music. But, I would also like to mention that (I don’t mean to disparage the band, but let’s look at this as a structural criticism) their singles do not have that ‘magnetic’ aura, which is a norm of melodic/metal core. Their effort at bringing up such music is a good take at the (present) Indian metal scene.

Rating: ★★☆☆☆
